Most of us are crazy about the superheroes that keep us entertained on the silver screen. However, if we look closer, there are ordinary people doing extraordinary acts that make them the real-life superheroes. We are often awed by the stories of people performing acts that are extremely brave. Mamoudou Gassama is one such hero who fearlessly climbed a four-storey building in Paris to save a life.
The incident took place in Northern Paris where a child was seen dangling from a building balcony. Gassama, without wasting any time, started scaling the building to reach the child and get him to safety.
The firefighter arrived at the scene just after he saved the baby. They said:
‘Luckily, there was someone who was physically fit and who had the courage to go and get the child.’
Also, seeing his bravery, the Paris fire brigade offered him a job which he accepted. He is actually from Mali who is staying in France on a temporary residence permit. The fast-track process of granting him permanent citizenship of France is started.
Mamoudou was in the area to watch a football match when he saw a crowd gathering in front of the building. Judging the situation, he plunged into action without wasting any time. In his own words:
“I like children, I would have hated to see him getting hurt in front of me. I ran and I looked for solutions to save him and thank God I scaled the front of the building to the balcony.”
The entire incident was recorded by the onlookers and shared on social media. Of course, it went viral quickly. Now, everyone has dubbed him as the real-life ‘Spider-Man.’
He was also invited by French President Emmanuel Macron. He presented the young star with a certificate and gold medal for his extraordinary courage.
Reports say that the child was in his father’s care who left the kid at home and went for shopping. While getting back he started playing ‘Pokemon Go’ and got delayed. In the meantime, the child faced a life-threatening situation. It’s said that the father will face consequences of his action and may face jail time for up to 2 years.

Not “Wakanda”, some nonexistent fantasy land. This is a real man and he’s from Mali! 😁
