Known for his unique style on the field, Ravindra Jadeja is also one of the most fun-loving and playful members of the Indian cricket team off the field. Due to his mischievous nature, Jadeja had once got his fellow players Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane in a massive trouble. This was even more dangerous as it happened in the middle of a forest amidst wild animals. The story has been narrated by Rohit Sharma himself when he recently showed up at the cricket comedy chat show ‘What The Duck’ with Ajinkya Rahane.
The incident took place when the three cricketers were on the tour of South Africa. They were accompanied by Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika and Ajinkya Rahane’s wife Radhika.
Talking to the anchor Vikram Sathaye, Rohit Sharma revealed the entire incident when the three of them, along with their families, got into trouble because of Jadeja’s mischief. Earlier this year, Indian cricket team were on the tour of South Africa for a series of 3 test matches, 6 ODIs and 2 T20 matches.
India had lost the first two test matches, but eventually won the third one and also won the ODI and T20 series. During the tour, Rohit Sharma along with his wife Ritika Sajdeh, Ajinkya Rahane, his wife Radhika Dhopavkar, and Ravindra Jadeja went for a jungle safari.
While narrating the incident of that jungle safari, Rohit Sharma warned that no one should go anywhere with Jadeja. During their expedition, they saw two cheetahs that were at a very short distance from them and had just caught their prey.
Rahane interrupted Rohit and continued the story by revealing that when they reached there, the cheetah turned around and looked at them. This had happened because of Jadeja, as he made weird noises that bothered the wild cats. The cricketers then told Jadeja to stop making the noises else they all would be the new prey of Cheetahs.
Rohit further mentioned that Jadeja’s infamous selfie with the lion in Gujarat too landed him in trouble. He said:
“He had also done the same thing in Gujarat and the government got involved. So taking him along was not a good idea. Actually, we should have left him behind in the vehicle. The moment Jadeja started making noises, those cheetahs turned around to look at us. At that point in time, only I know what I was going through. I looked at Jadeja angrily and I felt like punching him. But then I thought that it was necessary to stay calm at that stage.”
However, the cricketer also admitted that it was the best experience of their lives!
