After endless controversies, former India cricketer, Ravi Shastri, was chosen as India’s head coach till 2019 World Cup.
The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman carried out the selection process and made the final call.
Kumble’s exit was a shock, but Shastri’s selection as head coach again, was a surprise, too.
Also, as media keeping a close eye on BCCI proceedings, it was notified that the four-member panel comprising BCCI acting president CK Khanna, CEO Rahul Johri, Committee of Administrators (CoA) member Diana Edulji and acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary will take a call on Ravi Shastri’s salary on July 19.
Just as the news of Kohli-Kumble rift was doing the rounds before Kumble broke the ice 0n Twitter, in the same way, sources have implied that Ravi Shastri is expected to get 7 crores per year.
According to the reports, Anil Kumble had demanded an amount at par with a Grade A player’s total annual earnings, which is about 9 crores per year, but it was considered too high by the BCCI.
