After Denying It Earlier, Haryana Government Admits Possibility Of Rapes During Jat Stir

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar told High Court that a section of gangrape has been added in the FIR.

In February, however, the state government had told that no incident of rape took place during the Jat agitation. And, in March again, government state the same but, added that some women were harassed.

The government said that the section was added when Bobby Joshi filed a complaint on March 30 alleging gangrapes.

Also, the government received an anonymous letter, purportedly written by an NRI woman, alleging gangrapes.


Earlier, it was reported that nearly 40 agitators sexually assaulted at least 10 women. Also, images of innerwear scattered on the fields surfaced.


During the 10-day agitation in which members of Jat community demanded reservation in government jobs, at least 30 people were killed and public and private property worth Rs 10,000 crore was damaged.
