Bollywood’s favorite ‘babuji’ Alok Nath is all about sankaars! The sanskari babuji swears by his Sabhya behavior. But it seems like Alok Nath has washed away all his sankars with the best brand of alcohol. Amid several allegations in Bollywood and media industry, television’s ‘fatherly figure’ Alok Nath has been accused of rape. Naturally, he is also making headlines in the thread of #MeToo.
After Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of inappropriate behavior, many other names have come – Director Vikas Bahl has been accused of sexual misconduct. Chetan Bhagat, one of India’s top-selling authors has also been accused by a woman. One female journalist alleged actor Rajat Kapoor of sexual harassment.
A veteran writer-producer Vinta Nanda, famous for her ’90s show Tara has accused actor Alok Nath of raping her almost two decades ago.
In a long, heart-wrenching Facebook post, she wrote:
In an interview with a news channel, the actor has neither denied nor agreed to the claims made by Vinta Nanda. To our shock, the actor said:
“Kuch to log kahenge”. It (rape) must have happened, but someone else would have done it. Well, I do not want to talk much about it as for the matter if it has come out, it will be stretched, However, we only have to hear to women’s stand because they are considered weak”.
He further stated:
“It is useless to react on the allegations as in today’s world whatever a woman says, only that will be considered. In such a situation, it would be wrong to say anything.”
After Vinta’s allegations, Cine And TV Artistes’ Association or CINTAA has reacted. Sushant Singh, a CINTAA official, tweeted :
Dear @vintananda I am so so sorry. As @CintaaOfficial a show-cause Notice will be sent to @aloknath first thing in the mrng, why he shudnt b expld. Unfortunately we’ve to follow the due process. I urge u to file a complaint against this vile creature, we extend u full support.

Actress Navneet Nishan, his co-star on the show Tara had also sued him for of his comment against her in the ’90s. He called her a drug user in one of the interviews to a magazine. Navneet went on to deny his claims and told a publication:
“It’s taken me 8 years to get where I am and I don’t want some alcoholic fool to mess it up for me.”
The allegation against Alok Nath is the big black mark on the clean sanskaari image played by the actor in many of the TV shows and films. If these are the so-called sanskars, then we are better off with unsanskari image. What do you think?
