We are all aware of the passing away of veteran actress Sridevi. This sad news left grieving family, friends, and fans all over the country. Yesterday, the lady was cremated at Vile Parle crematorium in Mumbai. Dressed in a red sari and traditional makeup, she was looking like a new bride at her last rites.
Interestingly, Sridevi’s makeup artist got help from Rani Mukerji while doing her ‘last’ makeup. Rani Mukerji shared a very special bond with Sridevi.
During an interview she shared:
“The day, the time I got to know that she’s passed away, it was the most shocking and tragic thing for me to hear. I still can’t believe that we are talking about her demise. It feels surreal to talk about her in the past tense because we never expected this,”
She also recalled how Sridevi affectionately called her ‘laddoo.’
“She used to call me laddoo; she would say, ‘Arre my laddoo’ each time I met her and I am going to miss that,”
Rani further added that Sridevi was excited and waiting for her new movie. She said:

“I was actually looking forward to show her my film. She called me after seeing the trailer and said, ‘Laddoo, I have to see this movie.”
Rani Mukerji used to address Sridevi as Maa.
“The love she had for me was so tremendous and intense that I feel somewhere I have lost a guiding light in my life. She has been my inspiration personally and professionally”
She wanted to make sure that ‘last’ appearance of Sridevi should capture the glamorous nature of the lady. Hence, she assisted makeup artist Rajesh Patil to get the deceased actress ready. Sridevi used to like work of Rajesh Patil, he made sure to use her favorite sindoori bindi and red lipstick as a tribute. Rani along with Anil Kapoor’s wife Sunita laid the red saree on Sridevi. The saree and the jewelry were taken from Sridevi’s personal collection.
We wish her soul rests in peace!
