After three years off the movie sets, Rani Mukherji is all set to make her comeback with YRF’s ‘Hichki’. After a powerful performance in 2014’s ‘Mardaani’, the actor has been on hiatus.
Now, three years later, she has confirmed rumors of her return to the silver screen. A lot has changed while she’s been gone, but given that she’s the woman who gave very impressive performances in movies like ‘Yuva’, ‘Hum Tum’, ‘No One Killed Jessica, and, most recently, ‘Mardaani’, there’s little doubt that she’ll pick up right where she left off.
‘Hichki’ is said to have an inspiring story line in which Rani will play a woman who turns her biggest weakness into her greatest strength.
Mukherji has this to say about the movie,
Each of us has a weakness that pulls us back. It could be a disability or any condition but if we just look at it as simply a hiccup, we can emerge as a winner. It won’t come in the way of achieving our dreams. ‘Hichki’ is built on this positive premise and I decided to take it up.
Having already established herself as a powerhouse performer, this should be a cakewalk for Rani. Whichever way the tides turn, one thing is certain, it will be a refreshing change to see this familiar face back on screen. And if her past work is anything to go by, ‘Hichki’ will, at the very least, be quite interesting. Or, so we hope.
Here’s wishing the ol’ favorite “Good luck”, regardless!
