The war of words can take an ugly form when it comes to politics, especially at the time of elections. The political scene in India has already heated up given the ongoing Gujarat Elections. The tussle between BJP and Congress is going on everywhere – on the internet and on the grounds.

On a day to day basis, politicians can be seen taking digs at each other on news channel debates and more commonly on Twitter.

In an attempt to trash Prime Minister Modi and his “Vikas” campaign, on December 12 Congress Spokesperson Randeep S. Surjewala took to Twitter and posted a picture of PM Modi in a flight with a troll worthy caption.

Randeep S. Surjewala.

He not only mocked the idea of “Vikas” (development) which is campaigned strongly by PM Modi and his party, but he also commented on how the PM is always busy, flying to different places. Modi supporters took no time in trolling Mr. Surjewala for this tweet.

Here are some of the hilarious Twitter responses:

Gujarat elections are extremely important for the BJP in the context of upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. For Congress, Gujarat will decide if the party has actually succeeded in reviving the “Pappu” image of Rahul Gandhi.

The past 50 days have witnessed extensive campaigning, which began with talks of development, employment, education and other issues that mattered. However, by the end of the campaigns, as usual, politicians have stooped down to personal and derogatory attacks. It will be interesting to see who wins and who loses.
