Do you remember that during the Lok Sabha election campaign in 2014, Modi had promised that if all the black money is brought back to country, every person in the country would get Rs 15 lakh each in their bank accounts? However, BJP president Amit Shah said that it was an idiom. But over four years have passed and no such transfer of money ever happened. This has in fact gave the Opposition a chance to mock PM Modi and his BJP-led NDA government over the same.
Now Union Minister and NDA partner Ramdas Atthawale explains why the money was never transferred. Atthawale told the media that the money will come into people’s accounts slowly, not in a single instalment.
He also said that it was Reserve Bank of India who did not give the money to the central government.
Speaking to the media he said:
“There will not be one hundred million but you will slowly get. The government does not have such a large amount of money. We are demanding from the RBI but they are not giving up. There are technical problems. It will not be able to come together, but gradually it will happen.”
Responding further to a question on PM Modi’s poll promise, the minister said that people will get Rs 15 lakh each in their bank accounts and BJP will register the win in 2019 as well.
During the Lok Sabha election campaign in 2014, Modi had promised to bring black money back to the country. And now it is the 2019 next year, will we get another promise? These are the questions which are serious. What is your opinion on comments by Atthawale?
