‘Chak De’ actress Sagarika Ghatge got married to cricketer Zaheer Khan on November 23 in Mumbai. The couple, who got engaged on May 25 this year, tied the knot through a court marriage. It was a low-key ceremony, which had Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, actress Vidya Malavade and director Abhishek Kapoor in attendance. The duo has rarely spoken much about their relationship in public.
While Zaheer Kahn remained the backbone of India’s pace attack for over a decade, Ghatge shot to fame with Chak de! India, which was based on the Indian Women Hockey team and revived the sport-films genre in Bollywood.

However, making his point on Zaheer-Sagarika marriage, ad filmmaker and activist Ram Subramanian, who has worked with the Aam Aadmi Party, tweeted and questioned whether love jihad is only limited to middle class and poor people, and why no one making hue and cry when famous people get married.
It’s not love jihad when famous people get married. These rules apply for middle class and poor people only, since it’s their burden to ensure the purity of both nation and religion. https://t.co/zlxXV1Ai6h
