Ram Gopal Verma is one director who chooses to take the path less traveled. Most of his films have been inspired by the hustle and bustle of Mumbai underworld; Be it ‘Satya’, ‘Company’ or ‘Sarkar’. All these films explored the rebellious, dark and ill-natured side of the criminals.
A few directors have had the vision and courage to portray brutality and urban violence on a 70mm screen, and Ram Gopal Verma is one of them.
The movie,’Company’, is one of the finest works of RGV. It was loosely based on the inside world of the mafia organization, D-Company, which was run by Dawood Ibrahim. Though the film was a revolution, it didn’t unfold much about Dawood’s reign in Mumbai city.
To fill those loopholes, and narrate the untold story of India’s most wanted criminal, Ram Gopal Verma has come up with a web series, ‘Guns & Thighs’.
The web series is a detailed account of the rise and fall of the D-Company, and how its terror brutalized Mumbai in the mid 19s.
The trailer of series released yesterday, and it is filled with uncanny quotes and bold scenes. Watch it here.
