There is no denying the fact that the demolition of the Babri Masjid on that fateful day of December 6, 1992 was one of the most shocking events in the history of post-independence India. It was a reminder of how fragile our society is – open to exploitation along the lines of religion.
Rajdeep Sardesai thought that the incident was a shameful one. Any right thinking human would think the same way!
Lest we forget: today, 24 years ago a day of shame for Indian republic. The demolition of Babri masjid that unleashed a cycle of violence.

The problem is when influential voices like Sardesai deliberately remind the people not to forget such specific incidents while carefully glossing over others.
And this is what infuriated his followers on Twitter:
@sardesairajdeep completely uncalled for, u never said a word on Godhra or Anti Sikh Riots. Why now? got to let ppl forget these things.

.@sardesairajdeep Even before 1992, hundreds of temples were demolished in Kashmir. Was it done to uphold the idea of Secularism??

Indeed, the demolition of the masjid was a shameful thing, but people are trying to move on and build a harmonious society.
