Ahead of Gujarat assembly elections, all parties are busy gearing up and playing their trump cards for a win.
Rahul Gandhi has also joined the war and was seen visiting Somnath temple in Gujarat. Many political gurus tagged this as an attempt to woo Hindu votes who generally vote for BJP. However, this attempt might have backfired as photographs of a register in which Gandhi signed started to make news.

Somnath Temple maintains a register for non-Hindu visitors since 2015. In 2015, the temple committee reported that non-Hindu visitors will need to take permission from the temple office. This was made mandatory to all non-Hindu pilgrims.

As soon as the tweet got viral, BJP supporters took to the internet. BJP’s Tajinder Bagga predicted that Hindus will leave Rahul Gandhi forever.

Winter is coming.
He did that? I mean, really?
People’s religion should be nobody’s business but their own, but when you make a statement like “jo log mandir jaate hain, woh ladki chhed te hain”, then you do make your religious affiliation public business.
Sorry, Rahul G, but winter is coming. https://t.co/iMKiJdyZuU
