In an shocking incident, Ghaziabad Police recently ‘verified’ a tenant verification form that showed ‘the prospective tenant’ as Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and identified him being a ‘servant’ from New Delhi.
The tenant verification form was submitted to Indirapuram police station by a house owner called Arun Kumar Sharma.
The from not only bears the name of the Congress vice-president but also carries a photograph of Rahul Gandhi.
It clearly states that Rahul is the son of late Rajiv Gandhi, who was originally resident of house number 12, Tughlak Lane, New Delhi. Everything written in the form matches Rahul – his profession, marital status, etc – except the capacity in which he is seeking residence.
Rahul has been referred to as a servant/driver seeking residence as a tenant.
The form was submitted to the Shipra Sun City Police Post, which is under the Indirapuram police jurisdiction.
When the officials were asked about this glaring error, they replied that it was fake and had been “done to make fun of the Congress VP by a mischief monger”. They police claims that they “have not done” the verification.
When Inspector Gorakh Nath Yadav of the Indirapuram police station was questioned about it, he said that an FIR would soon be filed if an offence is found to have been committed but “ the format of the form is not matching with our presently available form. It might be an old one.”
The incident had come to light when the picture of the form started to go viral on social networking sites and its authenticity was cross checked.
