India’s leading shuttler and Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu recently signed a deal worth Rs 50 crore with sports management company.
The deal is said to be penned for next three years and is said to be bigger than that of Saina Nehwal and Sania Mirza.
The news was broken by Times of India, who in their report claim that that sports management company Baseline, will now take care of Sindhu’s brand profiling, licensing, endorsements and so on.
ToI further claims that Baseline’s managing director, Tuhin Mishra has said that Sindhu’s “soaring popularity” has attracted the attention of “so many companies” and they plan to “maximise her value” in the next three years.
They also said that even after achieving “stupendous success”, her humility and the value she brings to women power is remarkable and thus in the last few days, they have had an intense discussion on whom to endorse.
So far they have finalised nine companies including few financial institutions and women-centric brands.
They also made it clear that as Sindhu as per her coach Gopichand’s advice will not endorse any product that influences the youth in a negative manner and thus the company would be careful in selecting the best set of companies for her.
With this Sindhu is all set to become the first Indian sportsman to earn such a huge amount who is not associated with cricket.
“I can’t give a figure now but given the response that we are getting and the sponsors we have on board, Sindhu’s will be the best deal that a non-cricket star can get.” – Tuhin Mishra, MD, Baseline
