In Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, over 42 paramilitary police officers were martyred when an explosive-laden SUV rammed in a bus carrying them. There is no doubt that it’s a dastardly act done out of desperation. As soon as the images of the brutal suicide bombing came flashing on the television channels and social media, many people were unable to digest the news. It was certainly the biggest — and most coldblooded — terror attack on the armed forces in the last two decades.
It is said that the SUV was being driven by a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber identified as Adil Ahmad Dar. Jaish is a Pakistan-based and supported terrorist organisation proscribed by the United Nations and other countries.
This heinous and despicable act clearly shows how low Pakistan can go when it cannot do things in usual ways. The terrorist attack, which has direct footprints inside Pakistan, poses the first major challenges to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to Moeed Yusuf from the US Institute of Peace, PM Modi cannot take this attack lying down but Pakistan will also be not too happy with any Indian action either.
Here are the names of the bravehearts who gave up their lives in this attack.
This is not the first time that Pakistan has committed such an attack on Indian soldiers or its citizens. But by all measures it is unprecedented because it is a surprise how the suicide bomber breached the security check points in the heavily guarded national highway. Now, take a look at some of the heart-wrenching images from Pulwama terror attack:
It is said that since it was an unusually large convoy comprising of over 1000 jawans, the information could have been breached to large number of people that eventually reached to the terror group that planned and executed the attack.
