India’s leading news agency Press Trust of India’s (PTI) official Twitter account – @PTI_News, was hacked on February 1 by a group of new hackers called the ‘Iranian Crack Security’.
The account was hacked for almost 20 minutes, between 7:30 pm till 7:50 pm, in which the hackers posted a series of tweets promoting a channel called ‘telegram’, and changed PTI’s profile picture to that of their insignia.
The account was restored within minutes of PTI realizing what had happened, and they later even sent out a tweet admitting to the fact that they were indeed hacked.
Between 7:30 PM & 7.50 PM, PTI Twitter account was hacked. PTI is not responsible for any messages that could have appeared in that period.

In the past few months, Twitter accounts to many known Indian and International personalities have been hacked, including that of Rahul Gandhi, Burkha Dutt, Vijay Mallya and the Indian National Congress.
