The Gaudas and Kunbis of Goa are aboriginal people who are believed to be the original inhabitants of the Konkan. They follow folk Hinduism and have pristine tracts of forest dedicated to forest spirits.
These patches of forest area have been worshipped since ancient times and these tribal communities have kept up the tradition.
Not only do they worship these forest patches they also worship plants and animals. Despite the fact that some of them were converted to Catholicism, they have kept their tradition and culture.
