Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, is on a four-day goodwill visit to India, with his wife Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuk and Prince Jigme Namgyal Wangchuk. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj greeted them with absolute humility and affection.
The timely visit following two months of Doklam standoff resolution is now being viewed as momentous and crucial for India’s geopolitics. This visit is entirely viewed through the political lens and it is being said that this will bolster the strategic ties between the two nations, especially the one India has kept with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck for a long time now.
The king is scheduled to meet the country’s top political leaders including President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a dinner for the royal couple.
However, keeping aside all the political theories surrounding the king’s visit to India, this time, the visit is special in many ways.
As you can see in the pictures, the royal family has captured all our attention and most importantly, little Prince Jigme Namgyal Wangchuk looks elated while meeting Sushma Swaraj.
However, as most of us must have kept these pictures for political scrutiny by now, there is something more to them.
Did it just remind you of Kareena Kapoor’s baby Taimur Ali Khan, who is by now no less than a celebrity? These pictures are receiving a lot of good vibes on the internet and Prince Jigme Namgyal Wangchuk for us is already a star.
Amidst political blitz, we just cannot ignore the amount of love Swaraj has showered upon the child, just to make him feel that India is more like his home.
Ultimately, there will be a time when Prince Jigme will grow up and see all these pictures on the Internet. Certainly, he would feel great about the kind of reception he has received in India.
Can we just adore these pictures, forgetting about who we are, falling for the cuddly kid, Prince Jigme is?
