Actor Prateik Babbar has done just a few movies (Dhobhi Ghat, Ekk Deewana Tha, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na), but his performances have been widely appreciated. Without a second thought, we can say that Prateek Babbar is a good actor, however, his career almost slipped from his hands, a few years back when drug addiction took over his life.

He made a mark while essaying Genelia D’Souza’s brother in the 2008 hit film “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na”, and recently opened up about his struggles and personal life.

As per a recent report, the actor has mentioned about almost dying due to cocaine overdose in 2015. “I learned the hard way, and I learned the wrong way. I almost lost myself. In 2015, I almost died of an overdose of cocaine. That’s what turned things around for me. And then I realized I had to get out there and go for what I wanted. A second chance at life was my motivation. It was also about making my grandparents proud.”

In that report, it has also been mentioned that his family and friends supported him endlessly which helped him to leave his bad habits behind. It has also been reported that it was Sanjay Dutt who motivated him to quit taking drugs and shared his worries and stress.

“To be honest, the guilt ate me alive. I felt my fans loved me unconditionally and I was lying to them. And I thought that no matter what the repercussions whoever those people are that love me unconditionally, but I need them to know about what a mess I am, and that’s why I decided to talk about it,” revealed the actor in the report.

The actor will be seen next in Sajid Nadiadwala’s “Baaghi 2”, starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani.
