Swati Chauhan, a 23 year-old from Moradabad, was found hanging from the ceiling of her friend’s National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) quarters on Tuesday.
After completing her training as a CISF SI in 2016 Chauhan was posted at the ASG wing in Pune airport. She was on leave and had come to Hyderabad to visit her friend, Neelima Singh, who is working as an SI there. On Tuesday, Neelima went to work, and Swati was alone in Neelima’s quarter no. 59.
Jawaharnagar SI, N. Venkanna said,
When Neelima returned home after lunch she found Swati hanging on the ceiling.
No suicide note was found in the room. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim may have been suffering from depression. The police have registered a case of suspicious death and the body has been sent to the Gandhi Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
The police are checking other angles and trying to talk to Chauhan’s parents to figure out the reason why she committed suicide.
This is the second such incident at NISA this year. On January 19, a trainee CISF SI hanged himself from the ceiling of his quarters.
