Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is very concerned about the unfinished projects in the BJP-ruled states as it would hamper their ‘developed India’ motive.

“It will be tough for governments to come up with any excuse if works don’t get completed in the states that are ruled by BJP and its allies. If they stand up as successful examples, it will help the Centre draw a comparison with non-BJP ruled states. Failures in their home states will be a disaster and PM doesn’t want that to happen,” an official told TOI.

PMO has asked  details of such projects from the key infrastructure ministries and has been ready to make necessary intervention to avoid delay.

With Uttar Pradesh assembly polls scheduled in 2017, the PMO had asked for likely date of completion for the ongoing projects.
Further, PM Modi has been holding monthly interactions with all secretaries at Centre and chief secretaries of states to resolve issues.
