The VVIP culture of India has always been a matter of great debate in India. From being the crux of coffee-table discussions to getting the prime time coverage at national news channels, the VVIP culture of India has always been looked down upon by commoners. And true enough! After all, the ministers (who mostly constitute the majority of the VVIPs) are our own elected representatives and that they should get the same treatment like each one of us. But if you look at it closely, they are indeed in need of that tight security than anyone else.
While the idea of having our ministers, behave and work just like any one of us is absolutely welcome, do you think they can really enjoy freedom just like anyone of us? Their lives are always at risk, not only from unforeseen events but also from criminals – the murder of erstwhile Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi is a shining example of this.
Here’s a video of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi landing from his chopper in Hyderabad. You would be quite surprised to see that PM Modi was guarded by two other choppers, which landed simultaneously with the PM’s chopper.
These two helicopters had Special Protection Group’s security guards, who are responsible for the security of the elite politicians of the country, including the Prime Minister and the President. The Z-Plus category security personnel are all equipped with special weapons for keeping the PM safe and sound in any kind of situation.
The video further shows that as soon as the PM comes out of the aircraft, the SPG commandos brings him a special bullet-proof black Safari car without wasting a single minute.
PM Modi was in Hyderabad on November 28, 2017, to inaugurate the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, which has been held for the first time in India. The event, which is a partnered presentation of USA and India, also saw the presence of Ivanka Trump, the daughter and adviser of the US President Donald Trump.
