When he speaks, people pay attention to each and every minute detail and later, his words become a matter of scrutiny. This time PM Modi was in the United Kingdom and addressed the Indian diaspora in Central Hall Westminster on April 18 night. During the interactive session moderated by Prasoon Joshi, the Prime Minister revealed the secret behind his stamina. To our surprise, his answer left the audience in splits.
PM Modi quoted, “Pichle 20 saal se main daily 1kg-2kg gaali khaata hu (In the last 20 years, I have consumed 1-2 kgs of verbal abuses daily).”
This was something one couldn’t even expect from the Indian Prime Minister but as he took it on a lighter note, people present in the Central Hall started laughing.

For a few seconds, the very serious environment inside the hall transformed into chuckles and giggles. People couldn’t stop themselves but chant “Modi Modi” for the next few more seconds!
Even the Prime Minister laughed on his own answer and one could easily notice the changing vibes. People applauded in their best spirits and it seemed they were all too jubilant to see this version of their beloved leader.
He also said that he adjudged criticism against him as a “goldmine” but added that “nowadays criticism has taken the form of allegations”. At the session, the PM also said: “In a democracy if there is opposition but no criticism, then how can it be called a democracy. This is my conviction that criticism is the beauty of democracy.”
