Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has slammed PM Modi and Centre for the currency demonetisation move. He said if there was no serious thought behind the decision then it was a serious issue.
Thackeray said that Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes were banned without considering about people and their reaction to this move.
He said if this move by PM Modi fails, then there will be serious crisis in the country.
Thackeray said that instead of demonetization, the government should have acted against people with black money.
“Everyone knows who has got how much black money. Why didn’t the government take action against them instead of asking people to stand in long queues,” Thackeray said.
He questioned whether anyone of 40 people who died in bank and ATM queues has black money.
He also spoke against the Centre saying that the government was ill-prepared for carrying out such a major task.
Pointing fingers at Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, he said, “Urjit Patel was advisor in Reliance and now Reliance Jio is given free service till December 30. Incidentally, the last day of transaction is also December 30. Is it a mere coincidence? I am not getting answers to this.”
