Piyush Goyal, one of the best performing ministers in the Modi government, is in a spot of bother. He was in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates, to attend a conference on renewable energy.
On the sidelines of the energy conference, Goyal held a meeting with his Saudi Arabian counterpart Khalid al-Falih to discuss ways to “deepen India-Saudi Arabia bilateral cooperation”.

But then something happened.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) tweeted photos of the meetings between the Saudi Arabian minister and other leaders. One of those photos shows Goyal and al-Falih.
The tweet has now been removed.

Since every detail in bilateral meetings is the responsibility of the host, it is clear that the Saudi officials did a major goof up. The power minister, too, failed to notice the upside down flag.
And the unpardonable world of social media grabbed hold of Goyal. A discussion on a Reddit thread goes something like this:
