Every now and then, we hear predictions about the coming years. From intelligent traffic systems to stable world economy, the future seems promising. Technological advancements have made our lives easier, but, right now, most of us are struggling with the unstable economy, high prices and depleting natural resources.
According to an American futurist, Tony Seba, prices of petrol are going to take a deep plunge in the next 5 years. He explains that the demand for petrol will be highest around 2020, but after that, with the emergence of electric cars, petrol will slowly slip out of demand.
Earlier, Tony Seba had predicted that solar energy is the future as there will be a steep rise in demand. The prediction has turned out to be true. How, you ask? Dubai, an oil-rich country, is leading the world in cheapest solar power. Kochi, in India, has the world’s first airport to run on solar power. The demand increased and proved out to be beneficial for human civilization.
If we go by his figures, then the price of petrol in Indian will come down to Rs. 30 per liter from the existing Rs. 65 per liter. India’s power minister, Piyush Goel, had also said in the past that fully electric cars will run on the roads by 2030.
The Silicon Valley entrepreneur also says that the production of oil barrels, which is 100 million right now, will come down to 70 million within 10 years because there will be electric cars, self drive cars, and other smarter ways of traveling.
Can’t wait to live in the efficient futuristic world? All you need to do is wait another 5 to 15 years.
