‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’, one of the most talked about shows these days, is popular for all the wrong reasons! The show’s plot sends chills down our spines as it talks about a unique love story of an 18-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy. The 18-year-old protagonist marries this 9-year-old boy to protect him and yes, it’s really weird to see both together!

From stalking to suhaag raat to honeymoon, everything is happening on the show, calling it a “unique love story”. After getting fed up of the story, people have now started a petition to stop the show. Prakash, who is the lead actress of the show, is disappointed to see people’s reaction to her show.

After knowing that a petition has been filed against the airing of the show, Tejaswi has expressed her views comparing ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ with popular fantasy TV series ‘Game of Thrones’. In the comparison, the actress said,

It also happened in Game Of Thrones… People love Game Of Thrones and if the same thing happens in Pehredaar Piya Ki, then it’s an issue.

Forgetting the era in which GoT’s plot has been based, Tejaswi Prakash thinks that her show is way progressive and there is nothing wrong with the plot. It’s the people who are judging the book by its cover.

I think it’s really progressive. But again, a lot of people believe in judging a book by its cover… They love being judgmental and people have nothing better to do than judging somebody else’s work. Then okay, what can I do?

I feel it’s just a story and fiction. It’s just a story that we are telling people. So how can you judge any story? You like it okay, you don’t like it, so, you don’t like it. We are not professors, we are not trying to teach you anything.

The actress also talked about her unavailability from the social media platforms. She said she doesn’t know what the critics think about her show.

No, I’m an actor. I just get my script, go on the set and I perform. Honestly, I’m not on a lot of social sites to be aware of any such comments… I am only active on Instagram. Nobody calls and says anything to me. It’s probably the creatives… They should talk to the creatives about the criticism.

Talking about the controversial honeymoon and suhaag raat scenes, the actress said,

No, it’s not what a normal ‘suhaag raat’ and honeymoon is like. Obviously, me and Ratan are not married to have babies. It’s different.

Once people watch it and then they find it yucky or anything, then I would be fine and understand. There is nothing wrong that we have shown.
