Research of over a year and a half by Patanjali Ayurved Limited for generating electricity by using bulls’ power to generate electricity has reportedly resulted in success in its initial phase.
The brainchild of Acharya Balkrishna, the concept aims to make sure that the animals don’t get slaughtered. Also, it will be of major benefit to farmers who cannot afford electricity as they will be able to use the power of their bulls to generate power. The idea comes from the ancient times, when the animal’s massive power was utilized for ferrying heavy artillery.
Patanjali Ayurved Limited has tied up with a Turkish company and a leading India-based multinational automobile company in its new venture of producing electricity by harnessing the power of bulls.
According to reports, the design of this unique form of renewable energy has been able to produce around 2.5 kilowatts of power. Economic Times quotes Acharya Balkrishna saying,
At a time when more and more male bovines are being slaughtered, we want to change the perception that they (bulls) are not very valuable. While in the morning they can be used in the farms, in the evening they can be utilized for generation of electricity. We need to go back to the basics. In ancient times, bulls were used to ferry massive artillery. If their power is put to optimum use with the help of technology, they can be of tremendous use. We are undertaking research as to how more watts of power can be produced with the use of bulls so that a farmer can use them to light his household.
According to a senior executive of the company, the ambition of the project is to create a design that can be used by farmers for generating electricity. The officer also said that Patanjali Ayurved Limited has no intention of selling the power produced by this new mechanism.
