There is no doubt that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas make a very hot couple. As a token of respect and admiration for each other’s families, the duo got married in a traditional Indian style wedding a day after their Christian wedding. Despite the fact that even though Priyanka and Nick haven’t shared photos from their wedding ceremonies yet, they have treated fans to moments from their sangeet and mehendi ceremonies. No doubt people are eagerly waiting for their dreamy wedding pictures.
As per a media report, during the Hindu ceremony, Priyanka’s younger sibling, Siddharth, was by the Jonases’ side and explained significance of every ritual to them. Priyanka also indulged in Haldi ceremony before the traditional chura ceremony.
There was also a fun-filled competition between Siddharth and Nick’s brothers (Kevin, Joe and Frankie) of raising the groom and bride to a certain height during the exchange of garlands.
The American singer-songwriter was also explained the importance of saat pheras to which Nick replied cheerfully, “We should take seven more.”
The report quotes a source saying that Nick vowed to take care of Priyanka forever. Nick’s sweet gesture overwhelmed Priyanka and she was left teary-eyed.
As per various media reports, Parineeti Chopra, who is Priyanka’s cousin and was also one of the bridesmaids at the lavish wedding, had stated that she will ask for $5 million (approximately Rs 37 crore) from jiju as joota chhupai fee. However, in some media portals the amount appeared to be Rs 3.5 crore.
However, reports now say that Parineeti received just Rs 5 lakh amount from Nick.
But In a tweet Parineeti revealed this:
So now it turns out that the money Nick gave to his dearest saali for returning his wedding shoes is way beyond Parineeti’s imagination.
The buzz is that Nickyanka have sold the rights to their wedding pictures at a whopping $2.5 million (around Rs 18 crore) to People magazine. This is the reason why their wedding pictures aren’t on social media.
The power couple is all set to host two receptions in Delhi and Mumbai. While the Delhi reception will see prominent personalities from the world of politics and business, the Mumbai one is expected to be a star-studded affair.
