After a series of 24 tweets, Sonu Nigam deleted his Twitter account to protest against Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s Twitter account suspension. Twitter suspended Abhijeet’s account because of his abusive and offensive tweets.
Now, Paresh Rawal has written a letter to his followers and supporters stating that he is being coerced to delete his tweet about Arundhati Roy that he posted on May 21.
In his letter, Paresh Rawal told the need to delete his tweet else Twitter will block his account. Also, the actor and BJP lawmaker clarified that he still stands by his words. Here’s is what he wrote in his letter.
With this letter, I inform to all my supporters and citizens of this country that I am being coerced to delete something I tweeted on May 21, or else Twitter would block my account.
I Paresh Rawal, citizen of India, continue to defend my tweet and support my expression which was made without any prejudice to gender, race, religion or caste. More importantly, I maintain that I ardently love my country and support my country unwaveringly, I stand by and will continue to stand by the citizens and Indian armed forces under any situation and at any cost.
