Like India, the famous Japanese anime series Doraemon is also very popular in Pakistan.
However, political parties in Pakistan have raised objection of Doraemon speaking in Hindi.
Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf legislator, Malik Taimoor Masood has submitted a first of its kind resolution in the Punjab Assembly calling for a ban on Doraemon.

The resolution urges Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) to ban cartoon channels in general, and Doraemon in particular.
According to the resolution, cartoon channels on 24 hours are having a negative impact on the educational and physical well-being of children.

It said the cartoon characters speak in Hindi which is “India’s cultural attack on Pakistan.”
Since Doraemon is aired in Hindi, a lot of Pakistani kids prefer to watch them in Hindi which is resulting in more and more kids talking in Hindi. So, Pakistan leaders consider the cartoon series to be a danger to the Pakistani’s societal norms.
The announcement has created a full on war on Twitter under the hashtag #PTIvsDoraemon, and Pakistanis are trying to figure out what PTI has against anime.
