A Pakistani journalist took reporting to a bizarre level by reporting from inside the grave where celebrated philanthropist and humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi, was to be buried.
Edhi passed away in Karachi on July 8 at the age of 88. Abdul, was a well known philanthropist who founded the famous Edhi Foundation.
The text going along with the report says “Karachi: inside the last resting place of the servant of humanity, Abdul Sattar Edhi.”
While Pakistan mourned over the loss of its beloved humanitarian, the idea of the reporter was to give details of Edhi’s burial to his viewers from the grave.
Despite the channel’s claimed well intentions, this bizarre style of reporting has certainly devalued the ‘ethics of journalism.’
However, it could not be verified if the reporter was reporting from Edhi’s grave.
Twitter, as you’d expect, had a lot to say:
Just when you think journalism in Pakistan can never get more low. A journalist gets into future grave of Edhi Sb pic.twitter.com/avrUzVnE59
