Bihar is not Pakistan, yet a man in Nalanda district hoisted a Pakistani flag at the roof of his house. That was enough to send the locals and the police in a tizzy.

According to reports, the police acted swiftly following a call they received at around 6 in the morning informing them of the flag.

Nalanda is Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s home district so obviously, such an incident is enough to create ripples across the state.

The flag was hoisted at the house of a man called Anwarul Haq in Kharadi locality in Biharsharif town. Reports say that Haq has been arrested.

According to this report, a district administration source said that the man “admitted to hoisting the flag” believing it would “help his wife give birth to a baby boy”.

The DSP Saifur Rehman said that the police is “investigating the matter now. Action in the case will take place soon.”

It is noteworthy that just a few days ago, a huge protest in support of Islamic preacher Zakir Naik was held in Patna. Pro-Pakistan slogans were raised during the protest. Mohammad Taufiq, a leader of a political outfit Popular Front of India, has been arrested by the police.

In January this year, a man in Pakistan had hoisted the Indian tricolour over his home because of his love for Virat Kohli. The man was arrested and was charged under a section that would send him to prison for 10 years if convicted.
