A man was found hanging off the parkot (parapet) of Jaipur’s famous Nahargarh fort. The reason for this death has not yet been identified, however, it is being speculated that this death is somewhere linked to the recent protests against the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmavati”.

Man found hanging from the Parapet of Nahargarh Fort.

The hanged body is of a 40-year-old man named Chetan Kumar, who is a resident of Jaipur.

A charcoal graffiti on the wall adjacent to the hanging body has also been found. The text on the wall reads, “Padmavati, hum sirf putle nahi latkate (Padmavati, we hang not just effigies).” The words “Padmavati ka virodh (Protest against Padmavati)” were also found at the same place.

Jaipur police is currently running the investigations in this case. As per a media report, the police has revealed that the way the body has been found hanging from off the parapet of Nahargarh Fort, this could not have been a suicide.

A police officer has also claimed that it could be an act of anti-social elements.

“It doesn’t look like he was alone. It would take more than one person to tie the rope around the fort parapet and the embrasure,” revealed the report.
