12-year-old Padmalaya Nanda recently left for Georgia, US so as to make India proud by representing the country at the coveted Little Miss Universe beauty pageant.
The youngster from Odisha will take part in the global contest that will commence from 31st May, and will go on until June 6.
Nanda, who is a class 8 student in Cuttack’s Stewart School will participate in the contest along with 16 other finalists from various part of the world.

While other kids her age would be busy enjoying their summer vacations, she will be spending weeks representing India at various beauty contests.
After the US, Nanda would head out to Greece, where she would once again represent India at the ‘Little Miss World contest’
Talking about her efforts Padmalaya said she is planning to give both the contest her best shot.
“My efforts are now targeted towards the world finals because I am representing India at the Little Miss Universe and Little Miss World contests. I will give both the contests my best shot.”
One must note that prior to this competitions, Padmalaya has already won the Best Ball Gown, Best Pre Teen JMI (jury choice) and Best Pre Teen JMI (people’s choice) awards in different categories.
