It’s good news for party-goers this season as a University of Oxford psychologist has found that for men to remain healthy they need to meet their guy friends twice a week and do “stuff” together.
The study, which was conducted three years ago, found that men who “do stuff” together stay happy and healthy and concluded that for that all they need to do is meet up twice a week with at least two of their guy friends.
The study was conducted by Psychologist Robin Dunbar, who was very specific in his research; he said that men should choose to either drink beer or play a sport during this weekly meetings and have a good ‘laugh together’.
The report further added,
“Bonds can be formed through a range of activities from team sports to male banter — or simply having a pint with your pals on a Friday night.”
The research concluded that the trick behind this was to basically get together with only one’s closest pals and that group should remain small as larger groups tend to have less laughter.
The result of having a larger group means that there are less endorphins that are being released and that is what is the bedrock of many health benefits in men.
So what are you waiting for guys, go meet up your buddy, hit that gym, take up that X-Box, even the science is backing you now!
