Cab services are deemed cheaper and more convenient if we go by the popular opinion. Uber and Ola are a preferred means of communication among women for being swift, and safer. The experience of late night traveling has especially eased out. However, time and again, a number of harassment cases come to light which put women’s safety under question.
Ambika Sharma Anavkar, a resident of Pune shared her bitter experience with a creepy Uber driver. This has shocked her so much that the girl had decided to boycott Uber. She booked an Uber cab for one of her relatives on May 7. The driver of this cab was quite friendly according to her. This escalated to a string of unwanted Whatsapp messages from the driver.
Ambika instantly got overwhelming support on Facebook and Twitter. Uber got in touch with her on Twitter and apologized for the experience.

She updated her supporters about the conversation with Uber,
I got a call from uber saying that they are extremely sorry and that they will now suspend him. Said they picked my complain up from Twitter and will now speak to the driver and then write to me about the actions they’ve taken.
Points to Uber for taking responsibility, all we can hope for is that safe traveling for women becomes a possibility one day.
