On-screen siblings have always given us some serious sibling goals. The relationship that they portray on the screen often makes us realize that they are most often just like us. The rivalry for parents’ attention, the fighting over possession of things, and almost everything else they do portray our love-hate relationships with our own siblings.
Some of these onscreen siblings have taken it to another level and carried it to their real lives as well. From the make-believe relationships, they have gone off-screen to keep the bond alive.
1. Ayesha and Kabir from Dil Dhadakne Do
This brother-sister duo is just like us, part of a mostly dysfunctional family but nevertheless always standing by each other. Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh were terrific as siblings. Their bond continued beyond the movie too. In fact, in the recent Priyanka-Nick engagement, Ranveer was one of the few who got invited to the intimate function.
2. Chandan, Chanchal, and Chitwan from Tripling
We loved the trio of Sumeet Vyas, Amol Parashar, and Maanvri Gagroo as onscreen siblings who are forced together on a road trip. The first season of this popular web series has been long over, but the three continue to share a great bond off-screen as well.
3. Sahil and Rosesh from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai
There wouldn’t be a single soul (at least those who had access to TV and cable network) who isn’t a fan of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. The show gave us moments to live by forever. The relationship between the on-screen brothers Sahil and Rosesh was something we all share, especially those siblings who have completely opposite personalities. The show’s first season ended long back and we got a new one last year as well, but in between this time, these two on-screen siblings maintained their bond and relationship off-screen as well.
4. Jeevika and Manvi from Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai
Krystle D’Souza and Nia Sharma as the two onscreen siblings were lovable as well as relatable. The show went on to become a huge hit because of the chemistry of Jeevika and Manvi as on-screen siblings. Though the show ended in 2013, Krystle and Nia continue to share a good sister-like bond even today.
5. Akshata and Anita from What The Folks
Another web series which became an instant hit was What The Folks. A major for such positive response to the series was the bond between the onscreen siblings Akshata and Anita who portrayed the big sis-small sis bond to perfection. Their bond continued even after the season one ended.
6. Bobby and Bhavya from The Aam Aadmi Family
This web series had two successful seasons. The story revolves around a middle-class family in India and the onscreen siblings Bobby and Bhavya make their relationship and the family just like ours. Their easy camaraderie has bound them in an adorable relationship off-screen too.
7. Anjini, Binodini, Chandrakanta, Debjani, and Eshwari from Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls
Based on Anuja Chauhan’s Those Pricey Thakur Girls, the TV series received a good response because of the five sisters who played the characters of the on-screen siblings. The serial went off the air long back but the actors have managed to maintain a good relationship.
8. Raman and Simmi from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein
This is one of the most popular and longest running TV shows on Indian television currently. Karan Patel and Shireen Miraz play the on-screen siblings who portrayed many precious moments from this sweet relationship. Thankfully, they have continued to keep the bond off-screen too.
9. Pragya and Bulbul from Kumkum Bhagya
Another Indian television show in which the on-screen siblings carried off a great chemistry on the show and went to become good friends off the screen as well was Kumkum Bhagya. Pragya and Bulbul as siblings were just like any two sisters from a typical Indian middle-class family.
10. Gopi and Rashi from Saath Nibhana Saathiya
The sisters here weren’t exactly onscreen siblings but cousins. Gopi and Rashi played the role of female cousins who get married into the same family. The show ended in 2017 but the two on-screen sisters are good friends even in real life and off-screen till date.
11. Swara and Ragini from Swaragini
Daughters and on-screen siblings to estranged parents Swara and Ragini won everyone’s hearts through TV show Swaragini where they played the role of two sisters who come together to get their parents together. The show ended but these two onscreen sisters continued their bond.
These actors have proved that you don’t always need blood ties to celebrate this special bond.
