You may see him frail, weak and shivering but his heart is passionate, loving and musical. When Srijan Pal Singh spotted this 72-year-old man playing violin on the streets of Connaught Place, New Delhi, hardly he could have imagined the reason behind it.
Few years back, Swapan Sett’s wife was diagnosed with uterus cancer. The expense of her treatment was too much to be paid by his regular income.
As a result, he started traveling through the cities of India playing on his violin, selling his CD’s and showcasing his paint work. Going on for ten years, his tough situation might have drained him physically, emotionally as well as financially, but his ceaseless attempts resulted in a miracle.
His wife survived cancer but sadly her expenses didn’t end there. While Swapan Sett’s monthly income is Rs.7000, their medical loan is Rs.4-5 lakhs apart from the education loan he took for his daughter . Their daughter who was in class VIII when her mother went through chemotherapy is now working in a private bank and tries to support her family as much as she can.
Yet, Swapan still goes out to play heartfelt music on the busy streets of India at this age of 72. His story has been viral for some time now and social media users have been outpouring their kindness and contribution to this man and his unconditional love.
