The Official Trailer Of Love Sonia Is Out, And It’s A Harrowing Tale Of Human Trafficking

The official trailer of Love Sonia, which deals with the dark reality of human trafficking, is out. Been “inspired by real events”, it is sure to leave you dumbstruck. The film was premiered at the London Indian Film Festival in June and named the Best Indie film at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It features newcomer Mrunal Thakur as the title character along with Riya Sisodiya, Freida Pinto, Richa Chadha, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Rajkummar Rao, and Sai Tamhankar in other roles. It also stars American actor Mark Duplass and Golden Globe Award-nominated actress Demi Moore.

Love Sonia tells the heartfelt and brave story of Sonia, played by Mrunal Thakur, a young village girl, whose life irrevocably changes when she is engulfed in the dark world of prostitution and human trafficking.

 

 

The trailer of Love Sonia follows the story of two village sisters Sonia, played by Mrunal Thakur, and Preeti, played by Riya Sisodiya. Preity is sold off to a pimp, played by Anupam Kher, and is forced to sign up for the global racket of prostitution.

In the video, Sonia, unable to handle the plight of her sister, sets out on a journey to find Preeti and bring her home unaware of what lies ahead of her. This takes her to Mumbai where she meets people of all kinds. As she bumps into the dark world of prostitution and human trafficking, she takes on every battle with the belief that each unprecedented incident will take her closer to Preeti.

Love Sonia, directed by Tabrez Noorani, who also co-produced the film with David Womark and Rakesh Singh, is all set to hit the screens on September 14.
