It has been around 12 hours since two Indians captured the Gold and the Bronze medals at the Rio Paralympic Games 2016 in the high-jump (T42) category.
While Mariyappan Thangavelu, who cleared 1.89 meters height, brought glory with Gold, Varun Singh Bhati brought the Bronze by jumping 1.86 meters over the bar.
Yet the official site of the Rio Paralympics Games does not show their photos or names.
The only face visible on the site under the standings list of men’s high jump is of Sam Grewe, the US paralympian who won the Silver.
At the time of writing, the ‘standings’ page too had neither the photos nor names of Thangavelu and Bhati making it appear very odd.
It becomes even more surprising because both the athletes have their respective pages on the official website like everyone else. However, it is only Sam’s profile that has been updated with the Silver medal.
Mariyappan is India’s third Gold medallist in all Paralympics and Bhati is the fourth Bronze medal winner.
