Union Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu on January 4 said that the Indian railways are soon going to unveil new services in its coaches, where passengers would be treated to cuisines selected by celebrity chefs, while the train itself would have ultra modern facilities like a personal LCD TV screens.
With this, the ministry hopes to bring the journey experience in Indian railway to a world-class level.
Talking about the new initiative Rail Minister Prabhu recently said,

“Despite challenges, we undertook several initiatives in 2016 which will bear fruits later. In 2017, we are looking to progress on the many new initiatives we have launched. Recently we launched Hamsafar Express. Before that Mahamanya and Gatimaan Express were also launched. Tejas will be launched in 2017.”
Prabhu further went on to explain that Tejas would redefine passengers’ travel experience and will have train coaches equipped with 22 new features, including entertainment systems, an LCD screen for each passenger along with headphones sockets.
He added that these LCD screens would also be used to give safety instructions to the passengers just like they are done during Air travels.
He revealed that they are also considering an agreement with renowned chef Sanjeev Kapoor, so to finalise the menu for the passengers on this train.
