Box-office collections of Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju are roaring the success of the film in India as well as abroad. Bollywood celebs and audiences are in awe of Ranbir Kapoor’s performance as the bad boy Sanjay Dutt in the film. Rajkumar Hirani’s feature film Sanju tells the story of one of the most controversial actors in the industry. Evidently termed as a biopic, Sanju stars Ranbir Kapoor with Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles.
It is known to everyone that Sanjay Dutt has led a remarkable life that has been through different phases. From drug addiction to his time in jail after the Bombay blasts in 1993, Sanju takes the audience on Dutt’s roller coaster journey. The audience laughed and cried with Sanju throughout the dramatic biopic. And unexpectedly, Ranbir Kapoor has mesmerized the audience with his spectacular portrayal of Sanju Baba, telling his story to the world through his acting.
However, there is a set of the crowd who doesn’t agree with the presentation of Sanjay Dutt’s life on the silver screen. Yes! Netizens have given some of the most unexpected review of the film in which they have criticized the lack of factual information in the film.
While there is a group of audience who is in all praises for Ranbir Kapoor, the other group seems to be a lot disappointed by the fabricated portrayal of Dutt by Rajkumar Hirani. The film presents him as a good-hearted ‘victim’ who falls prey to the circumstances.
The director has tried to blame from drugs to media, for Sanjay Dutt’s problematic life. Moreover, Sanju has missed out some of the most important people from Dutt’s life including his first two wives and daughter Trishala. Furthermore, Dutt’s two sisters, who have been with him through thick and thin during his jail time also don’t have much to offer in the film.
Social media users took it to their Twitter account to express their discontent with the film’s plot. In their tweets, netizens brutally bashed Rajkumar Hirani for choosing Dutt’s story for his movie. Besides this, they have pointed out the hypocrisy of Bollywood the industry is trying to glorify a ‘gangster’ like actor Sanjay Dutt.

Not so surprised!
Sanjay Dutt admits sleeping with hundreds of women in the trailer. Not surprised how Hirani conveniently left out the part where he abuses them too. After all, it’s supposed to glorify a monster. Well done, Bollywood. You have made a masterpiece. #SanjuReview

According to Hirani…
According to Hirani’s #SANJU:
His drug addiction – A friend
Him exploiting women – Women
Him picking up the gun – Death/rape threats by Hindus
Him being tried as a terrorist – Media
NOT responsible for any of these things:

Watched #Sanju. Hideous. Forget whitewashing, this is unbearably sloppy filmmaking. Makes Dhoni look like The Social Network. Ranbir is impressive *only* in patches. Infuriatingly bad film. They should have called it One Idiot.
