We all got offended and called it racism when the people of the West mistook Deepika Padukone for Priyanka Chopra. Actors like Abhay Deol voiced their opinion on Bollywood celebrities endorsing fairness creams and made many apologies for doing so. But, has society changed at all. We always call a tall and fair guy ‘hero’ but what about the short and dark guys? No compliments for them?

It’s not only that grooms want ultra-white wives but Bollywood also wants white celebrities in spite of the fact that Indians are brown. This time, a brilliant actor like Nawazuddin Siddiqui has become a prey of Bollywood’s racism.

Sanjay Chouhanand, the casting director of the film ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’, said,

Nawaz was on the project even before its inception. Later Chitrangada Singh who was roped in opposite Nawaz left the project abruptly. So we had to again hunt for the leading lady.

The actor, who has earned accolades for his commendable acting skills, had to become a victim of racism, but he didn’t stay quiet. In a hard-hitting tweet, Nawaz has given a befitting reply to ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ casting director’s comment.

Here’s what the actor tweeted:

But, Nawaz’s fans came forward in his support and that shows that for the fans it’s the talent that matters. Here’s how Tweeple reacted:

It’s Nawaz, and he does not give a damn!
