Like other Bollywood celebrity offspring, Govinda’s daughter Narmmadaa will also soon try to grab a firm foothold in the Indian film scene. But to do so, she has decided to use another name and add on her surname.
A friend of the aspiring actress said that Tina is her nickname and suits her more than her real name as it is youthful.
Govinda Ahuja didn’t use his full name as an actor and was popular as simply ‘Govinda’. Sources state that the change in name has nothing to do with numerology, which industry insiders suspected to be the case.
Narmmadaa will still be the actress’s official name, with Tina Ahuja merely functioning as a screen name.
Narmmadaa will be seen in a movie opposite Gippy Grewal, who is a well-known Punjabi film actor and a singer known for his hit song ‘Angrezi Beat’ from the movie ‘Cocktail’. Grewal believes that this movie will help him “reach out and win more hearts”.
The duo will make their Hindi movie debut in director Smeep Kang’s movie ‘Second Hand Husband’.
The movie is described as “a quirky family comedy about marriages, divorces and everything in between”. Producer Amlok Singh stated, “Gippy and Tina are born stars and Second Hand Husband is the perfect launch pad for both of them.”
The movie will also feature Dharmendra, Rati Agnihotri, Ravi Kishan, Geeta Basra, Sanjay Mishra and Vijay Raaz.
The trailer of the movie is out and people are curious about whether Narmmadaa has inherited comedic timing and dance skills from her father. “I am sure there will be a lot of comparisons with my father, but I don’t want to copy or emulate him,” she said.
“I just want to do my own thing and hope the audience like me for who I am,” said Tina Ahuja.
