When some of the biggest Bollywood names are busy supporting Pakistani artists and condemning the call for their ban, legendary actor Nana Patekar, who has spent two-and-half years serving India as a soldier, differs with an opinion so powerful that it has earned him accolades from nationalistic quarters.
This is what Patekar said when he was asked to express his views regarding the ban over Pakistani artists:
“Pakistani artists are secondary. What comes first for me is my nation. I neither know nor would I want to know anyone else other than my nation. Hum kalaakar desh ke saamne khatmal ki tarah hai. Hamari keemat kuch nahi hai. (We artistes are like mere bed-bugs when compared to our nation as a whole. We are least important people).”
“Nation comes first and that’s how it should be for one and all. I have been a part of Indian army for two-and-a-half years and I know that our Jawans fighting at the border are the real heroes. Our soldiers are the biggest heroes in the world.”
Nana just won our hearts. Isn’t he absolutely correct? Aren’t our Jawans the real heroes? Check the the footage below and don’t forget to share your opinion in the comments section:
