Best friends are, well, simply the best. But, as the realities of family, careers and day-to-day life sets in, we seem to lose connection with our dearest friends. Worse still, some of them move out to different cities, states and sometimes move abroad.
Returning back to schools and colleges make us relive the same old memories once again. And sometimes on a Sunday when the idiot box plays any of the following movies, it sure does remind us of our friends and how free and loving we in their company.
8. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
Who can ever forget this movie! It celebrated friendship – not just between two people, but a whole bunch of friends. And that is exactly what made their friendship so special.
As they say, a good friend’s friendship has the power to transform you. And this is exactly what we get to see in this ultimate friendship flick, Cocktail. Veronica, the rich, spoilt brat, undergoes a massive transformation after she meets the meek and docile, Meera. While Veronica provides shelter to homeless Meera in a foreign land, Meera too goes out of her way to make sure Veronica stays happy. Well, that’s exactly what friendship is all about, ain’t it!
6. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
This super hit Bollywood flick taught us “pyar dosti hai”. College dude, Rahul and tomboyish Anjali are true characterization of best buddies – they argue, they scream and they fight only to get back again. In fact, they were not just best friends, but were made to be life partners too. But the movie’s love angle on one side, the movie beautifully portrays how annoying and lovable your friends can be.
5. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

It was about friends who depict the true meaning of unity, faith and patriotism – all at the same time. These young lads, who were once clueless what they want to be, fight together for their nation to get justice for their deceased friend.
2. Three Idiots
Who wouldn’t associate their friendship with these three strangers who meet in an engineering college hostel only to become best friends forever? A friend in need is a friend in deed – but this movie gives us a lot more. Besides happiness, support and condolences, Rancho (Aamir Khan) gave life to his friends, showed them the right path and encouraged them to stand for themselves. Anybody can happily face the challenges of life if they have a true friend like Rancho by their side!
Talk about friendship and the first movie that comes to our mind is the legendry classic, “Sholay”. One of the main reasons why this movie is still a treat to watch is the ecstatic camaraderie, which is shared between Jai and Veeru, played by the superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra. Perfect partners in every crime, these two best friends were inseparable till death tears them apart.
