The story of Kundanbagh Haunted House in Hyderabad created quite a sensation in 2002 when the decomposed bodies of three family members were discovered inside the house. It has remained as an unsolved mystery even to this day and is considered as one of the top haunted places in India.

The story has it that a family of four – father, mother and two daughters – lived in a two-storey house in Kundanbagh. It is told that one day the father left the house and never returned, and nobody knows anything about him ever since then. According to neighbors, the mother and the daughters were not normal. It is said that they would to go to the garbage bin in their car daily, which is just two minutes walk from their house, to throw it. They would light candles at midnight and walk around the house. They even hung bottles filled with blood on their veranda. The neighbors also used to hear weird sounds from inside the house. The mother would wield an axe and scare away people. It is said that no one works in the family and no one earns. No newspapers and no cable connection. Only electricity. This is all what people saw and concluded.
But what is the unsolved mystery of this haunted house?
In 2002, badly decomposed bodies of Jayaprada, a 56-year-old woman, and her two daughters were found inside their house. Nobody took notice of the death, till one day, a burglar, nabbed by the police, mentioned a break-in he had committed in the house some months ago. They were suspected to have committed suicide by consuming poison, as a bottle of black liquid was recovered from the room where the bodies were found.
After investigations and medical checkups what was revealed took a shit out of the people around, the police and the entire city.
The postmortem report revealed that they have been dead for almost 6 months. So, the neighbors began to wonder about the women and the queer things in the house. It became a big news and later the house was locked and no one was allowed inside since then. But the questions on who used to drive the car, who used to walk around the house and how light is seen on the first floor every night even after their death remained unanswered even to this day.
Like many other haunted places, the story of Kundanbagh house is a much debated one. While some say that the story was created to stop other people from buying it, many say that it is haunted and they have had strange experiences around the house. Whatever it is, we really don’t know except that the house is now a deserted property and no one is allowed inside.
