The killings of BJP and RSS workers in Left-ruled Kerala continue. At least four people from BJP and RSS have been killed since January. The latest being a 20-year-old BJP worker from Thrissur.
Nirmal was reportedly stabbed to death during a festival at Kokkulangara temple late on Sunday night. The state BJP unit has accused workers from the ruling CPI(M) for the murder.
A strike was called in Thrissur on Monday by the BJP to protest the killing.
On January 18, CPI(M) workers allegedly killed Santosh – a BJP worker – by hacking him to death. Santosh was alone at his house when he was attacked at night.
A photo of one of the Santosh’s two children, Vismaya, doing the rounds of social media reminded the readers of the painful reality of political killings.
As a result the BJP called for a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in Thalassery town to protest his killing.

On December 28 last year, CPI(M) workers allegedly set fire to the house of BJP mandalam committee member Radhakrishnan in Pudussery, Kanjikode. Radhakrishnan and his wife Vimala suffered burn injuries.
While Radhakrishnan succumbed on January 6, his wife died on January 16.
BJP alleges that more than 400 attacks on its cadres and RSS volunteers have been carried out in the state in 2016. Violence committed by the Left in Kerala has been on for decades.
The case of C Sadanandan Master is one of them. He was just 30 when on January 25, 1994, a group of men from the CPI(M) attacked him. They pinned him to the ground and hacked both his legs off just because he had left the path of communism.
